Elbchaussee and Blankenese. A long riverside boulevard lined with villas and consulates, running out toward Blankenese's steep lanes. Wide, well-surfaced, and made for a Porsche or Mercedes-Benz cabriolet with the roof down; weekday mid-mornings avoid the heavier commuter traffic.

Alster Lakes, Rotherbaum and Harvestehude. The Aussenalster shoreline gives a quieter, residential contrast to the harbor front. Parking near the lake is limited close to Fährhaus, so a short drive-and-stroll routine suits a Bentley or Range Rover better than an extended stay.

Altes Land, south of the Elbe. Orchard country reached via the Elbe tunnel, with narrow farm roads and half-timbered villages. A firmer, all-wheel-drive option such as a Porsche Macan or Range Rover handles the surface changes more comfortably than a low-slung coupé.

Lübeck and the Baltic coast. An hour's run northeast on the A1 to Lübeck's old town and on to Timmendorfer Strand. Return the car with a full tank as agreed at handover; a GT car such as an Aston Martin or Mercedes-AMG suits the motorway stretch and coastal roads alike.
